The MNY Spotlight

Meet Sabine Jean, Founder of The B Stinger

Introduce yourself!

Hello, I'm Sabine, the founder of B Stinger. My family is from a beautiful island called Haiti. I got married last year to my best friend! I love to travel, spend quality time with family and friends and most of all, I LOVE to eat. Try new restaurants and indulge. Over a decade ago, while in college, I founded this brand as I began my burgeoning styling career. Strangers would often stop me to inquire about my outfits, sparking my passion for style and fashion. It was a pivotal moment as I was on the cusp of launching my styling career. With a deep-rooted passion for style, I derive immense joy from guiding others in discovering their own unique sense of style!

You describe your style as feminine and classic. How has your personal style evolved over the years?

Wow, that’s a loaded question! I would say it’s definitely evolved to something even more feminine. I find myself wearing more and more dresses. I also love pulling inspo from past eras and old Hollywood films!

You got married in October 2023 and planned a beautiful wedding with a “Parisian chic” aesthetic! What special details gave it that french flair?

I worked with an amazing wedding planner and she really helped bring our vision to life! The venue itself did the job really. We had our reception in the courtyard of our venue which truly gave it that Parisian feel. Also, using delicate florals and adding romantic touches like vintage French-inspired decor helped capture that “Parisian chic” aesthetic we were aiming for.

What is your best tip to new brides-to-be?

I have soo many! But if I had to pick my top 3 is be selective with your guest list don’t go based off of tenure but instead go based off of who has poured into your relationship and who’s present in your life. Really take your time with the engagement process, if you’re lucky it only comes around once so savor every moment. Most of all, to stay true to yourself and your personal style. Don't feel pressured to follow every wedding trend or tradition if it doesn't resonate with you. Focus on what makes you feel confident and beautiful on your special day, and remember to enjoy the process of planning and celebrating your love. It’s about the two of you so enjoy it!

For the next vacation with your new hubby, which Mestiza styles are you packing?

Definitely the Adelina Gown, Elliana Barong Mini Dress, and the Rafe x Mestiza Dome Straw Clutch Bag!

Let’s play a game of this or that!
- Neutrals or bold colors? That’s tricky - I love both! If I had to choose, neutrals.
- Leather or lace? Lace
- Bows or flowers? Haha both!

- Pearls or diamonds? Diamonds

As someone whose style is such a big part of your identity, how does your style appear in other aspects of your life?

My style definitely influences other aspects of my life. I strive to maintain a sense of elegance and sophistication in all that I do, whether it's in the way I communicate with others, the way I approach problem-solving, or even the way I organize my thoughts and ideas. I believe that having a strong sense of style can convey professionalism, confidence, and creativity in everything I do. It's important to me to present myself in a way that reflects my personality and values, and my style is a big part of that.

What draws you to the Mestiza brand?

The pretty styles and silhouettes! Mestiza is epitome of femininity and elegance!

How are you styling the Corazon Top & Seville Skirt and Odette Midi Dress? What is your favorite detail about these styles?
The green set I’m styling with some floral green mules or gold flats when I want more of a casual feel and the odette midi dress a pair of nude heels! I love the colors - perfect for spring! Both styles incorporate two of my favorite things, bows and florals!
